Rippled Edging: This is a unique edge finish that creates a wave or "ripple" on the edge of a veil. Thread is bound around a clear line that creates the wave. Therefore, this edge can be created in any color that a pencil edge can be created in. (Check our testimonial page to see this veil on an actual bride!)

Rhinestone Band: Rhinestone banding is a beautiful band of rhinestones in a clear setting. This gives a gorgeous sparkle to the edge of a veil. It does add a little bit of weight, so it is commonly used on 1 layer veils. Shown below is a 3 layer veil! This edging is not recommended for Center Gathered veils.

Currently we offer 4 different comb types that you may choose to have your veil attached to. Pictures and descriptions are below.

3" Clear plastic comb
The 3" plastic comb is a basic comb that is suitable for most veil styles, and hair types.
The teeth of the plastic comb are a little bit closer together than the metal combs, so for very fine hair this may "grip" the hair a bit more. However, if we suggest talking it over with your hairstylist, as sometimes they have a preference of what may work best with your hairstyle. The comb is hand-sewn on to the veil, except for the drop veils and mantillas with NO gathering -- these are attached with a clear adhesive as shown below.
If you'd like to order a single layer veil that has custom cut fullness at the comb that is less than 54", we strongly suggest a metal comb. A metal comb is required for veils that have custom cut fullness less than 20" at the comb. Or if you'd like a veil that is 3 layer extra full- we strongly suggest a little bit longer comb - such as the 4.5" metal also.

The 3.25" metal comb

Suitable for all veil types except for those with no gathering. If you plan to remove your veil at any point, the metal comb will slide out nicely without disturbing your hair much.

The 4.5" metal comb

Suitable for all veil types except for those with no gathers. We love this comb on veils that you'd like to be very sheer at the top. The extra bit of length really spreads the gathers out nicely. It can also be bent slightly to curve around your head or hairstyle. **The comb is only 4.5" long when completely flat. You'll want it to curve around the shape of your head, so in this way it's aprox 4" wide.

This is a drop veil with the blusher pulled back, attached to a 3" clear comb.

The 5.5" metal comb

Suitable for all veil types except those with no gathers. This comb works beautifully worn right on top of the head. It can be bent to curve around the shape of your head and really spreads the gathers of the veil out to cover your whole head. Is gorgeous with fuller veils!

Comb with Velcro for Detachable second layer

On 2 or 3 layer veils it is optional to have the longer layer(s) removeable with velcro. This is a great option if you'd like to remove the longest length for the reception, and still wear the shorter layer. The shorter layer is handsewn to a comb- with a piece of velcro added on the back side. This does add just a bit of thickness as shown below.
**This is not an option on any Centergathered style as these are cut from 1 piece of material**
Below is shown a 3" clear comb with the bottom layer detachable by velcro. This is available on any comb type.
We also offer detachable blushers. The velcro would be on the inside of the comb for this.

When worn correctly (with the teeth pointing down), the veil flips over on itself and the velcro is not visible. (This side rests against your head.)

When worn high on top of the head, all comb types will look similiar because the sides of the veil will fall around your head. However, the longer combs will make the gathers at the top of the veil spread out and lay flatter than the 3" comb.

When the veil is worn lower on the head, the different comb sizes can create different looks, as shown below.

3" comb
(sheer fullness 1 layer veil)

Notice that with the wider combs (the last 2 pictures), the gathers are spread out more and the top of the veil is naturally wider against the head.
